Riders hold on to playoff hopes in boys soccer

(Bremerton) – The Port Angeles Roughriders held on 3-2 to beat Bremerton in boys soccer.
With their backs against the wall in a must win game for the playoffs, the Riders got the job done and brought home 3 points across the Hood Canal Bridge late Thursday night.
Port Angeles scored first in the 36th minute on a Svetlio Hurd goal assisted by Alex Freilich.
The Riders went up 2-0 in the 59th minute on a dangerous cross by Tyler Owens that was knocked into the Knights net by one of the Knights.
Bremerton rallied back in the 60th minute when Matt Olson scored.
Forrest Epstein answered back in the 73rd minute on an unassisted goal.
It wasn’t over as the knights got another goal in the 79th minute and pressured the Riders late. Rider keeper Derek Walrath made several saves to preserve the win and 3 points.
