Sequim edges PA in tennis

(Sequim ) -- The top two teams in the Olympic League met on Tuesday as the undefeated Sequim Wolves took on the 11-1 Roughriders from Port Angeles.

The Wolves used the strength of their doubles teams to come out on top 5-2. Port Angeles got off to a good start, winning the #1 and #2 singles matches, but Sequim pulled away late to secure the win.

#1 singles - Frieda Sachenheimer (PA) won 6-3, 6-3 vs. Stacy Hanson
#2 singles - Chantel La (PA) won 7-6, 6-1 vs. Amanda Tiemsland
#3 singles - Kari Hankins (S) won 6-1, 6-1 vs. Aishia Dueno
#1 doubles - Kyla Hall/Blaire Maloney (S) won 6-2, 6-0 vs. Cassidy Fairchild/Sam Manwell
#2 doubles - Angela Richards/Diana Earl (S) won 6-1, 6-0 vs. Megan Hixson/Danika Goodwin
#3 doubles - Mary Cherrett/Caihley Baker (S) won 6-4, 6-3 vs. Coco Piper/Alexis Corn
#4 doubles - Jennifer Lancheros/Katrina Chan (S) won 6-3, 5-7, 6-0 vs. Grace Van Rossen/Mallory Hoch

Sequim finished the year as the Olympic League Champions, while Port Angeles finished tied for first in the 3A division.
