January 11th, 2007 - 6:44am
(Port Angeles) -- The state of Washington will let you cut some firewood for free.
The Department of Natural Resources is offering free firewood cutting permits for three areas on the Peninsula. The DNR says people will be able to cut downed trees from the recent windstorms.
The areas are in Catamount near Blyn and two places in Jefferson County. Cutters can take up to six cords of the fallen timber from now through the middle of April.
You can get more information and download a permit at the DNR's website: dnr.wa.gov.
