2 injured in LaPush accident

May 15th, 2007 - 6:13pm

(Forks) -- An injury accident near Forks Tuesday sent two people to a Seattle hospital by airlift.

The State Patrol says the crash happened just after 10 Tuesday morning on Highway 110 -- the LaPush Road -- about a mile from the Olympic National Park boundary.

Reports say a westbound Ford sedan driven by 33-year old Elizabeth Tapia of Forks entered a left hand curve and veered over the center line.

Troopers say Tapia's car collided head-on in the eastbound lane with a Chevy pickup driven by 28-year old Wesley Schumack of LaPush.

Investigators say both drivers suffered broken legs and were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center.

Troopers are continuing their investigation.
