No evidence found in cold-case dig near Port Angeles

(Port Angeles)-- Jefferson County detectives spent yesterday digging in a wooded area west of Port Angeles.
They were looking for the clues or a body in a disappearance 26 years ago of Carla Owens.
But the search in an area off Edgewood Drive near Critchfield Road turned up nothing.
The search came after local resident Linea Anderson told authorities she thought she remembered seeing a man suspected in the disappearance digging a hole in the area back in 1981.
Owens was 14 years old when she disappeared in the west end of Jefferson County.
A local logger, Ken Berry, was suspected in the crime. Evidence found where Owens was last seen was also found in the back of a truck owned by Berry. Berry died in 1987 before arrest or charges were laid in the case.
