Port approves new lease for composites company
November 28th, 2007 - 6:41am
(Port Angeles) -- Port of Port Angeles Commissioners want to keep their customers happy...especially very good customers such as
Angeles Composite Technologies, Inc., which manufactures
composite material for the aerospace industry, and has 87
employees. ACTI rents three buildings on airport property,
and has asked the Port for some improvements...namely,
"Clean Room HVAC and controls". Currently, ACTI pays
$20,592 per month in rent. They are asking the Port
to extend their lease for another 10-years, with the
Port bidding out and paying the cost of the improvements.
ACTI will then reimburse the Port over the term of the
lease, at an estimated additional $26-hundred dollars
per month. Earlier, ACTI contacted qualified contractors,
and received bids, the lowest being $217-thousand
dollars. Now, the Port will advertise for bids and
award the contract to the lowest qualified bidder,
and amend ACTI's lease accordingly.
In other action, Commissioners agreed on the final
reimbursement to Jakeco, for stump grinding and removal
from the Lincoln Park tree removal project. The final
price was $45,448 dollars, with the Federal Aviation
Administration paying 95 percent of the cost.
