Local student dies in snowboard accident

(Port Angeles) - A Peninsula College student died in what's being described as a freak snowboarding accident. 20-year-old Jared Nagel died at Stevens Pass Saturday. The King County Medical Examiner's Office says Nagel fell off a jump at a snowboarding park on Saturday. Nagel is originally from West Salem, Oregon. He played soccer two seasons for Peninsula College leading the team to the best ever record this year and made the Northwest Association of Community Colleges all-star team.
