Local area springing back into winter

March 26th, 2008 - 6:28am

(Port Angeles) -- The calendar may say spring, but get ready for some more winter-like weather. Expect an inch of accumulating snow is possible on parts of the North Olympic Peninsula overnight tonight into tomorrow morning. Forecasters say a deep upper trough over the northeast Pacific Ocean will produce cool, showery, and occasionally breezy weather through the rest of the week. But the key is the snow level will dip to sea level during some of the heavier showers. The cold air mass is expected to get even colder tonight, that could trigger some of the snow we're expecting. Those snow showers could linger in the area into Friday.
