Last bridge girders arrive, Truck Route reopens

(Port Angeles) -- The last of those big girders arrived today for one of the new 8th Street Bridges in Port Angeles. The last 5 of the 25 girders for the Tumwater Creek Bridge came in about 7:00 a.m. via special trucks. They took a circuitous route west of Port Angeles and evenutally back up to the construction area at 8th and "A" streets. The Tumwater Truck Route reopened about 1 pm Wednesday. It was closed for a week to through traffic for the girder placement.
