Carlsborg crematorium approved

(Carlsborg) -- The Clallam County Hearings Examiner approved an application to create a crematorium in Carlsborg Thursday.

Jason Linde with Linde Family Funeral Service plans to install a refrigeration unit and cremation chamber in an existing building at 110 Business Park Loop.

Neighboring home and business owners expressed concerns about possible health impacts from a crematory during a public meeting.

KONP's media partner, the Sequim Gazette, reports that Hearings Examiner Chris Melly says his decision was based on land-use law, rather than health concerns.
