Fire burns Joyce garage

(Joyce) -- A Joyce man may have his dog to thank for saving his life. The dog woke up the man this morning from a living area in the back of a garage that was fully engulfed in flames. The garage near Highway 112 and Oxenford Road west of Port Angeles was reported at about 3:30 this morning. Firefighters had to fight the huge fire from the highway for a short time. The heat from the fire prompted the state to shutdown the highway for about a half hour this morning. Firefighters believe a woodstove may have started the blaze. The garage and two cars inside were totally destroyed. Damage estimated at $150,000.
