(Sequim) -- The city of Sequim will pay its fired city manager more than 150-thousand dollars to settle his termination.
Last night, the city council agreed to pay Bill Elliot just over 152-thousand dollars if he agrees not to sue the city over his firing last week. Soon after the agreement was announced, the city handed out copies that also included Elliot's signature.
The Sequim City Council voted 4-1 a week ago Monday during a study session to fire Elliott.
Four new council members voted for the move while Paul McHugh was the only no vote. Other long-time council members Walt Schubert and Bill Huizinga were not at the meeting.
Last night the entire council was present and agreed six-to-one to offer the settlement.
Police Chief Bob Spinks is now serving as interim city manager.
