PASD tech levy vote deadline arrives

May 20th, 2008 - 8:17am

(Port Angeles) -- It's the last day to get ballots returned for the Port Angeles School District's technology levy. Through this morning, a total of 74-hundred of the more than 18-thousand ballots mailed out had been returned. That's a return rate of just under 41 percent. The district is seeking voter approval of the four-year levy to pay for new computers, networking, technology training and other equipment. If approved, it would add about 46 cents per thousand of valuation of property in the Port Angeles School District. It would bring in about one-point-six million dollars a year. Voters must have ballots postmarked by today. You can also drop them off at the auditor's office. The office will remain open until eight tonight to assist voter or issue replacement ballots.
