Local convenience store burglarized

(Port Angeles) -- Port Angeles police arrested a man this morning downtown after a burglary of a convenience store. At about four this morning, police responded to a report of a smashed window on the downtown Jackpot convenience store at 331 West 1st Street. Police say the building was entered by someone wearing a mask. The suspect took beer and cigarettes. Later, police noticed a man and woman walking in the area. When officers contacted the couple, they say they noticed a bag containing the items reported stolen during the burglary. 28-year-old Courtenay Howard Raymond of Port Angeles was then taken into custody. Raymond was incarcerated in the Clallam County Jail on burglary, theft and malicious mischief charges.
