(Port Angeles) -- Two North Peninsula high school seniors have been chosen as 2008 Washington Scholars. The honor from the Washington Higher Education Coordinating Board goes to Owen Kajfasz of Port Angeles High School and Olivia Creasey of Sequim High School. Each year the Washington Scholars program recognizes high school seniors from the state's 49 legislative districts based on their academic achievement, leadership and community service. Kajfasz and Creasey are two of the three scholars from the 24th Legislative District. Students are awarded scholarships covering tuition and fees for up to four years at any Washington public or independent college or university. Kajfasz plans to attend the University of Washington in the fall.
