Man faces charges in backwoods crash

July 2nd, 2008 - 5:26am

(Sequim) - A Sequim area man faces a vehicular assault charge after he allegedly lost control of his vehicle on a Forest Service Road and crashed into a tree Saturday, critically injuring his stepfather.
31-year old Joshua Ray Page made a first appearance in Clallam County Superior Court Monday.
In charging documents, Prosecutors say Page was driving under the influence of intoxicants and/or drugs on Forest Service Road 28-70 early Saturday night.
Papers say the accident critically injured Page's stepfather, Steven Sherwood.
Documents say Sherwood was transported to Olympic Medical Center, where he was stabilized and airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Papers reveal that Page admitted to drinking prior to the collision.
Prosecutors say a portable breath test showed Page's blood alcohol content was above the legal limit in Washington.
Deputies arrested Page and booked him into the Clallam County Jail.
At a first appearance Monday, Judge Ken Williams released Page on his personal recognizance to appear at arraignment on July 11th at 9 a.m.
Page was ordered to not to drive, maintain a curfew and placed on day reporting to the court on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
