Harbor development group to search for exec

September 4th, 2008 - 8:29am

(Port Angeles) -- A local development authority hopes to have a permenant director in place before the end of the year.

The Harbor-Works Development authority board yesterday agreed to advertise for an executive director. Those ads could begin by the end of this month, and a pick might happen before the end of December.

A final salary schedule hasn't been set yet, but officials say the director could fetch a paycheck of 150-thousand dollars a year.

The city and port of Port Angeles formed the development authority this spring in an effort to look at cleaning up and fostering development of the city's harbor areas.

Specifically the group is working on the former Rayonier mill site property at the foot of Ennis Street.
