Port Angeles water, sewer rates could rise

(Port Angeles) -- The Port Angeles city council may vote later this month to raise sewer and water rates.

The council started a public hearing this week on the issue. It'll continue September 16th and a vote could come after that.

A consultant recommends the city hike its water and sewer rates over the next three years.

The study says the city should raise sewer and water rates eight and a half percent each of the next two years. Sewer rates would go up just under eight percent in 2011 while water rates would rise four percent that year.
