Clallam launches new sex offender tracking program

(Port Angeles) -- The Clallam County sheriff's office has launched an online program to track convicted sex offenders in the area.

The program, called "OffenderWatch" will be used by law enforcement to track sex and kidnapping offenders to make sure they are meeting registration requirements.

Sheriff's office officials say they can also use the new program to make sure community notifications are sent out.

The tracking will include offenders in all jurisdictions of Clallam County including the three cities.

Citizens can also register to use the program for free and receive email alerts if an offender should register inthin two miles of where you live.
