Former border patrol deputy chief sentenced for child rape

(Bellingham) -- A Whatcom County Superior Court judge has sentenced a former U.S. Border Patrol official for this area to four years in prison for child rape.

55-year old Joseph Giuliano pleaded to three counts of third-degree child rape after admitting to having sex with a 14-year-old girl more than two dozen times last year.

The girl had lived in Giuliano's home.

Giuliano was the number two official for the U.S. Border Patrol in this region of the country.

He retired soon after his arrest.
