Local border patrol talks with PA business leaders

(Port Angeles) -- Local border patrol agents are continuing checks for illegal immigrants on the north Olympic Peninsula.
And they're doing it by working with other local law enforcement agencies.
Port Angeles border patrol station supervisor Christopher Dyer says a day seldom goes by when he's not working with other law enforcement agencies.
Dyer told the Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce yesterday that although the focus is on illegal immigrants, they're also checking for terrorist group activity.
He says the local area is a long way from heavy gang activity, but lately, this area may have caught the notice of a large
Honduras terrorist group, called the MS-13 gang.
Dyer says the local office has not set up any highway checkpoints since the first part of September last year.
He says there hasn't been a need for them lately, but they might happen again.
