Local officials prepping businesses for Swine Flu

(Port Angeles) -- Clallam County Medical Reserve Corps volunteers will begin visiting area businesses next week to provide information about preventing the spread of the flu.
M-R-C volunteers will provide area businesses with a free packet of tools they can use to promote handwashing, covering your cough, and staying home when sick.
Businesses are encouraged to promote healthy habits to their customers by posting information about good prevention habits.
M-R-C will assist existing community emergency response systems as well as providing a group of readily trained and available resources to help the community deal with pressing public health needs.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention anticipates there will be more cases, more hospitalizations and more deaths associated with the H1-NI pandemic in the United States this Fall and Winter.
Wisecup says the Medical Reserve Corps is a component of the Citizen Corps that will bring together local health professionals and others with relevant health related skills to volunteer in the community.
