(Port Angeles) -- A female inmate at the Clallam County Jail will be arraigned Friday on drug possession charges after investigators say they found drugs hidden in her body.
48-year old Cheryl A. King is charged with multiple drug counts and trying to introduce contraband.
On August 11th, King reported to the jail for a ten day commitment and was admitted after a thorough search.
A confidential informant had told officers of the possibility that King would be attempting to smuggle drugs into the jail.
Authorities obtained a search warrant and transported King to Olympic Medical Center for an x-ray, which revealed suspicious matter in her abdominal area.
Another search warrant was obtained and officials conducted a body cavity search which revealed a package contained suspected heroin and tablets of Alprazolam and Methadone.
In first court appearance Monday, Judge George Wood set bail for King at 20-thousand dollars with arraignment scheduled for August 28th.
