PA council goes on record against I -1033

October 21st, 2009 - 2:36am

(Port Angeles) -- The Port Angeles City Council went on record last night opposing Initiative 1033.

That's the statewide measure that would limit the growth of general fund revenues received from taxes, fees and other charges not expressly approved by voters.

The council feels, if passed, Initiative 1033 would negatively impact the city's budget for all future years. The council held a public comment session on the issue before voting last night.

Four people spoke out against the initiative. No one spoke in favor of it.
