Slide cuts off trail

(Port Angeles) -- A section of the Waterfront Trail has been closed due to a landslide.

City of Port Angeles officials say the large slide is just east of the Rayonier property.

The city's parks division has set up barricades on both sides of the slide area.

Crews will start removing the more than 75 yards of debris as soon as possible in order to reopen the trail.

City officials are asking people to stay away from the slide area, as more debris could fall due to the recent heavy rains.
