Clallam, Jefferson counties may merge housing efforts

February 2nd, 2010 - 3:19am

(Port Angeles) -- Clallam County's Housing authority may expand into Jefferson County.

Housing authority executive director Pam Tietz approached Clallam County Commissioners with the idea of combining the housing authorities in Clallam and Jefferson counties.

She says it would help create more affordable housing opportunities across the north Olympic Peninsula if the two agencies mergeed.

Tietz says the plan will include working closely with OLYCAP, the Olympic Peninsula Community Action Program which already serves clients in both counties.

Tietz says a consolidated agency between Clallam and Jefferson counties wouldn't take place until at least this summer.
