Sequim leaders head into retreat

(Sequim) -- Sequim city leaders will huddle together over two days in a lengthy retreat, trying to foster a better working relationship.

The city council and some key staff plan to spend more than eleven hours today and tomorrow discussing how best they can put aside acrimony and try to move ahead.

The retreat comes after more than a year of turmoil at the council following the election of new members, the firing and lengthy hiring process of a city manager.

The council plans to look at it's strategic planning, as well as how the council's relationship should be with the city staff.

The council also plans to set priorities for the upcoming year.

The retreat starts this afternoon, breaks for the night and picks up again at 8:30 Saturday morning.
