Democrat announces run for Clallam prosecutor

(Port Angeles) -- An official challenger for Clallam County prosecutor has emerged.

David Fox says he'll run as a Democrat for the seat held by Republican incumbent Deb Kelly.

Fox told the Peninsula Daily News this week he was running because of high turnover in the prosecutor's office.

Fox ran as a Democrat two years ago for Clallam County commissioner but was ousted from the top-two primary by a Republican and an Independent candidate.

Fox has practiced law in the area for more than a decade, although he is currently not listed on the Clallam County Bar Association's roster.

Kelly announced last month she intends to run for a third term this fall.
