FORKS, Wash. (AP) - A man and a woman found dead in a home in Forks have been identified as
James and Brenda Grant.
Clallam County sheriff's Detective Lyman Moores says
investigators believe Grant shot his wife and then himself.
Police responded to the home at about 6 a.m. Monday when a
friend of James Grant called 911 after receiving a text message
from the man.
According to investigators, the message said, "You'll hate me.
Please take the two kids and raise them right."
A 10-year-old boy and a younger girl ran unhurt from the house
at about 11 a.m. as Washington State Patrol SWAT officers prepared
to enter.
Mayor Bryon Monohon says the family is well-known in Forks.
James Grant reportedly was hired last week as a corrections
officer at Clallam Bay Corrections Center.
