Peninsula College students get rental option for textbooks

September 7th, 2010 - 6:13am

(Port Angeles) -- When Peninsula College students head back to classes later this month, they'll have a new option to save money.

The college bookstore is letting students rent their textbooks.

Usually, students must purchase their books. Bookstore manager Patty McCray-Roberts says the new program will offer an average of 50 to 70 percent savings on texts.

The service will be available online.

McCray-Roberts says the rental program will include tens of thousands of the most popular textbook titles. Students will still be able to highlight and take notes, all within the normal wear and tear associated with coursework in the rented books.

Students will have the option of buying their textbooks at the end of the term.
