Food-a-thon effort tops 46-thousand for PA Food Bank

(Port Angeles) -- The Port Angeles Lions Club Radio KONP Food-a-thon earned 46-thousand-569 dollars Thursday.
Thanks to all our listeners on Newsradio 1450 KONP and the support of many local businesses and individuals in the community.
The coffers were filled with hundreds of donations along with a gift of more than 55-hundred dollars from the employees and owners of the Black Ball Ferry Line.
There was an anonymous donation of 5-thousand
School District 121, Queen of Angels and Olympic Christian students raised 45-hundred dollars through
their Peanut Butter Challenge.
Other generous contributions included 2-thousand dollar gift by Hermann Brothers.
First Federal donated one-thousand dollars.
Clallam County PUD employees donated 11-hundred dollars.
The lawfirm of McMenamin and McMenamin
contributed one-thousand dollars.
The money raised goes to the Port Angeles Food Bank, where a 10 dollar donation can provide a healthy, nutritious meal to a family of 6.
The Port Angeles Food Bank serves about 25-hundred families per month.
