(Port Angeles) -- Clallam County sheriff's deputies and detectives arrested two people in connection with a armed robbery of a Sequim-area store.
21-year-old James Thompson and 26-year-old Nicholas Baker were arrested yesterday in connection with the Valentine's Day robbery of the Hardy's Market on 33 Taylor Cutoff Road.
Clallam County chief criminal deputy Ron Cameron says Thompson was arrested for being the driver of the vehicle that transported Baker to and from the area near Hardy's Market when the robbery occurred.
Cameron says Baker gave Thompson some of the proceeds of the crime.
Deputies had contacted Thompson during a routine traffic stop early Wednesday morning and saw that he matched the general description of someone that may have been involved in the robbery.
Investigators believe Baker entered the store while wearing a ski mask on his face, pointed a gun at
the clerk and demanded money from the till. Baker left the store after receiving a small amount of currency from the clerk.
Cameron says the gun in this case has been recovered and identified as a plastic pellet style pistol. No other suspects involved in the robbery remain at large, however the investigation continues.
