Man arrested after murders in Sequim, Agnew

June 4th, 2012 - 5:36am

(Port Angeles) -- A Sequim man is being held in connection with a double murder.

34-year-old Patrick Drum was arrested in the woods up Blue Mountain Road yesterday afternoon after a three-hour manhunt.

The case started when Clallam County sheriff's deputies were called to 31 Heuhslein Road in Agnew. 51-year-old Jerry Ray was found dead there from gunshot wounds.

Deputies say about the same time they received reports of a suspicious person in the Blue Mountain Road area which led to the manhunt for Drum.

Police later went to Drum's rented house at 5011 Sequim-Dungeness Way where they found 28-year-old Gary Lee Blanton dead from gunshot wounds.

Investigators say both victims were registered sex offenders and that Drum apparently held hostility toward sex offenders and was acquainted with both victims. Blanton had recently moved into the house rented by Drum.
