PREP SPORTS: Olympic tops Riders in football

(Silverdale) -- The Olympic Trojans scored three first half touchdowns, wiping out a 7-2 Port Angeles lead and went on to a 29-7 win in Olympic League football action Friday.

PA rebounded from giving up a safety with a 10-yard touchdown run by Nick Lasorsa, but it was all Oly after that.

Ben Long scored on runs of 42 and 33 yards, Zach Thornton threw a 38-yard pass to Brian Tyson and it was 22-7 at the half.

Randy Grier scored early in the third period for Olympic on a 10 yard run and that turned out to be the final score.

Olympic held the Riders to 107 yards, grinding out 305 of their own.

In other games, Bremerton beat North Mason 58-31 and Kingston beat Klahowya 34-28

The Riders host Klahowya Friday for homecoming, Sequim goes to Olympic for a 5 p.m. game.
