PREP FOOTBALL: Klahowya stops Riders

(Port Angeles) -- The Klahowya Eagles used the pitch and catch combination of Jacob Sheets and Josh Ganowski to hand the Port Angeles Roughriders a 19-8 Olympic League loss at Civic Field Friday night.

The Riders have now lost five straight and 9 of their last 10 going back to last year.

Eagle quarterback Sheets connected on 15 of 26 passes for 275 yards and 10 passes went to Ganowski for 218 yards and three touchdowns.

Ganowski scored on throws of 45, 31 and 13 yards as the Eagles trew for 275 yards and rushed for 56 more.

Port Angeles got to the Eagle 11, 7 and 6 yard-lines, but oould not score.

Late in the final quarter Larrson Chapman connected on three passes for 66 yards to Jonathan Newlin and Nathan Angevine scored from the four to get the Riders on the board with 1:34 left in the game.

The Riders had 323 yards of offense, their most this year, rushing for 230 of those yards.

PA goes to Bremerton Friday.
