(Port Angeles) -- An attempt to arrest a Port Angeles man prompted a call to the bomb squad.
Yesterday afternoon, Port Angeles police served a search warrant at a house in the 200 block of east 8th street. They were looking to arrest 37-year-old Andrew Nilsson who is also known as Andrew Stranger.
Andrew Nilsson wanted on multiple felony charges
Deputy police chief Brian Smith says Nilsson is wanted for unlawful imprisonment, harrassment assault and theft charges related to a domestic violence case late last month.
Smith says Nilsson wasn't at the house yesterday, but officers found suspicious items that prompted a call to the State Patrol bomb squad. One item was an explosive and was taken from the residence.
Meantime, police are looking for Nilsson. He's described as a white male, five foot ten, weighing 190 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. Police believe he may be white driving a Honda Prelude. They also say he reportedly suffers from paranoia and mental issues and could have an AK-47 rifle with him. Police say he is potentially dangerous.
