(Port Angeles) -- The Port Angeles Roughriders gave up an early fumble, then muffed a kickoff and North Kitsap took advantage of both miscues on the way to a 41-12 football win over the Riders at rainy Civic Field Friday night.

PA fumbled on its first play to start the game and the Vikings scored on a one-yard run. North took a short punt 42 yards to a score with 1:11 to go in the first period to lead, 14-0.

On the kickoff, Port Angeles let the pigskin slip away and North recovered the muffed ball, going 29 short yards to another score.

Port Angeles scored with 19 seconds left in the half after Matt Robbins intercepted a pass. Nathan Angevine went in from the 5.

North scored a touchdown and a field goal in the third period, the Riders added a late score when Tate Priest ran in from the 12.
