Fire burns in downtown Forks

(Forks) - Investigators are sifting through the remains of two landmark buildings in Forks.

Fire destroyed the buildings early yesterday morning.

One of the buildings housed the former Dazzled by Twilight store because it sold from the Twilight movie series, set in the Olympic Peninsula town. The other building was the city's Order of Odd Fellows Hall.

Clallam County Fire District 1 Chief Phil Arbeiter says the fire that was reported about four yesterday morning.

The fire started in a three-story wooden Oddfellows building. That building housed a theater group and Hispanic grocery. The fire spread to the adjacent Twilight store, which was not in operation.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The fire cut a power line and that caused the Quillayute Valley School District to cancel classes Monday at the elementary, middle and high school.
