Local pharmacy named state's top community corporation

(Port Angeles) -- A local business is getting honors from the state for its charity work.
Jim's Pharmacy will receive the 2012 Corporations for Communities award, considered the most prestigious civics award from the state.
The award honors exceptional Washington businesses that make helping the community a priority.
Jim's Pharmacy offers free vitamins for kids, free diabetic and heart health education, scholarships for local high school students and hosts various donation drives throughout the year. Jim's also provides monetary and staff support to local organizations and encourages staff to participate in regional causes.
Secretary of State Sam Reed will present Jim's with a National Association of Secretaries of State Medallion Award during a ceremony next month in Olympia.
TreeTop Inc. was also selected for the award this year.
