Pirate ladies win crown

The Peninsula Pirate ladies won their first NWAACC soccer title in Tukwila Sunday, beating Spokane 3-2 in shoot-out after the game was tied 1-1 after two overtimes.
Pirate goalie Danae Brooks stopped three of five free-kicks in the shoot-out to give the Pirates the victory.
Spokane scored in the 16th minute and the Pirates of coach Kanyon Anderson scored in the 60th minute on a goal by Kendra Miner.,p>Peninsula beat Everett Friday, 3-1, to reach their first final on goals by Briana Afoa (2) and Ashlyn Frizzelle.
Peninsula finished 23 and 1 on the season.
