Pirate men claim title

The Peninsula Pirate mens soccer team took a 1-0 win over Walla Walla Sunday at Starfire in Tukwila to claim the NWAACC boot title, joining the Pirate ladies as conference champions.

Peninsula broke a scoreless first half with a goal in the second half s Pirate goalie Guilherme Avelar recorded his second shutout in a row.

On Saturday the Pirates beat Edmonds 2-0 on goals by Jake Forrester and Alex Martinez.

Peninsula finished 23-1-1 on the season and it's the second title for coach Andrew Chapman.
