Sequim to run two school levies next year
December 5th, 2012 - 6:48am
(Sequim) -- Voters in the Sequim School District will vote on two levies in February.
The school board this week unanimously approved running a renewal of the current levy February 12th. But they'll also ask voters for a one-year special levy to replace busses.
The four-year maintenance and operations levy would be the same as the current levy, bringing in just over 5 and three quarters million dollars a year for the district. The rate would be about $1.60 per thousand dollars of property valuation.
If approved, the bus levy would bring in just over one and a half million dollars. That levy would add about 44 cents per thousand of property valuation under the current assessments.
