PREP BASKETBALL: Rider girls top Sequim

Port Angeles topped the Sequim Wolves, 48-19 in Olympic League action at Sequim Friday night.

The Riders took advantage of the fact that Sequim was missing two starters and clamped the defense down. The Riders (7-0,7-1) limited the Wolves to 7/35 shooting for the game.

Sequim (2-5,3-6) had trouble handling the Rider pressure and committed 30 turnovers.

PA led 9-3 at the quarter, 17-7 at halftime and cruised down the stretch, shooting 33 percent for the game, 19-57.

Sequim plays next Friday and Saturday in the Crush in the Slush tourney at Port Townsend, meeting an Australia team Friday at 9, North Mason at 12:30 Saturday.,p>Port Angeles goes against Burlington Friday at home with a 3:00 tip, then goes to WF West in Chehalis Saturday for a 5 o'clock game.
