Work starts on highway-widening project

(Port Angeles) -- Construction has started on making Highway 101 between Port Angeles and Sequim four lanes.
Crews are starting work on a new bridge over MacDonald Creek.
That's the first in a series of tasks that will lead to making a three and a half mile stretch of highway four lanes.
Scarsella Brothers of Kent is doing project. Total cost is expected to run more than 60 million dollars when it is finished. That includes construction and acquiring the property to accommodate the expansion.
The project is expected to be finished by the end of next year.
