January 17th, 2013 - 11:16am

(Sequim) -- Clallam County sheriff's deputies are asking residents to be on the lookout for a suspected burglar in the Sequim area.

Yesterday, a white adult male riding a bicycle and carrying a backpack burglarized a residence on Lakeview Drive in Sequim.

Sheriff's officials say the homeowner was next door at the time.

According to Detective Sergeant John Keegan, the suspect rode his bicycle around the residence, rang the doorbell and knocked on the door to see if anyone was home. After circling the residence, the suspect broke a bathroom window and committed the burglary.

Keegan is asking residents in the area to keep any eye out for suspicious people and vehicles. He's also asking people to contact the sheriff's office if they have any additional information.
