January 18th, 2013 - 9:25pm
The Port Angeles Roughrider boys led 32-26 at the end of the third quarter at Klahowya Friday, but the Eagles soared high in the last minute to eke out a win.
The Riders led 44-38 with 1:30 left, but Mike Ward hit a long bomb and followed that with another three to tie the score.
Hayden Gunderson made two free throws with 12 seconds left, but the Eagles goT the ball inbounds against pressure and Carlos Vallejo missed a three-point shot, but was fouled with .7 seconds left.
Vallejo went to the freebie line and made all three to give the Eagles their second win of the season against the Riders.
Gunderson led PA with 13, Josh Ganowski had 19, Ward 11 for the Eagles.
The loss means PA has to win out in their last four games in order to have a chance for the league's 5th playoff spot.
GIRLS - The Rider girls remained one game ahead of Bremerton with a 66-36 win over Klahowya. A 21-7 second period and an 18-8 third quarter put the Eagles in a big hole as the Riders shot 43 percent for the game.
