PA art park "restarts" after vandalism spree
February 8th, 2013 - 8:01am
(Port Angeles) -- Nearly two months after vandals ransacked dozens of art pieces on the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center campus, the center reopens the exhibit tomorrow.
Center director Robin Anderson says they're calling it the "Restart the Art Park".
In mid-December vandals destroyed or damaged 35 art pieces located in the Webster Woods area around the Fine Arts Center.
Anderson says a artists and volunteers stepped in to fix most of the pieces in quick fashion.
There are still no suspects. Anderson believes it probably took a group of people to do the type of damage that occurred.
Beginning at 11 Saturday, the public is invited to a special program. It will include a ribbon cutting to reopen the park, refreshments, a bird watching walk at noon and humans posing as statues around the grounds.
The program wraps up at 3 pm.
