Jamestown tribal elder dies in crash at Lower Elwha reservation

(Port Angeles) -- An elder in the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe died over the weekend in a truck crash on the Lower Elwha Reservation.

69-year-old Philip Adams was found dead in his truck Saturday night after it went over an embankment.

The accident happened at the north end of Lower Elwha Road near Full Moon Trail.

Adams was the only one in the truck. When crews arrived they found him unresponsive.

Fire District Two crews tried to resuscitate Adams, but he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident was investigated by a Washington State Patrol Accident Investigation Team, assisted by a Sheriff's Deputy.
