(Tacoma) -- Back in the 2A basketball regionals for the third straight year, the Port Angeles Roughriders will travel to Lynden Friday to meet Archbishop Murphy or Cedarcrest in a battle which will send one team on to state in Yakima.

The Riders beat Olympic for the third time this year at Foss High Monday, 43-33, but the game was close most of the way as two tired teams went at it hard.

PA led 7-4 at the quarter, 20-12 at half and 31-17 in the third period.

Miday through the third, Rider frosh Hayley Baxley stole the ball at midcourt, fired ahead to Maddy Hinrichs for a layin and the lead was 36-20 with five minutes left and the Riders broke the Trojan spirit.

Ashli Payne led the Olympic team back with 8 of her game-high 19 in the last period, but Port Angeles buried five of nine freebies sin the last two minutes to secure the win.

Hinrichs had 11 for the Riders, Mariah Frazier and Macy Walker added 8 each as seven Riders scored.

Port Angeles plays the 6 o'clock game at Lynden, with KONP air time 5:45. Olympic meets Burlington-Edison in the second game. Both winners advance to Yakima.

Sumner upset White River 57-43 to win the district title. Renton and Washington finished fifth and sixth, all going to the Regionals.
