(Sequim) -- Kevin Kennedy has been named Sequim Citizen of the Year.

The 57-year-old received the honor at today's luncheon meeting of the Sequim-Dungeness Chamber of Commerce.

Kennedy was born in California and moved to Sequim when he was 2 years old.

He's a 28-year member of the Sequim Lions Club and helps organize the annual logging show at the Sequim Irrigation Festival.

This year will mark the 25th rendition of the logging event founded by Kennedy and Dave Bekkevar back in 1988.

Kennedy's favorite Lions activity is the Mission to Mexico program through the Sequim Community Church.

Kennedy is also one of the founders of the current Dungeness Crab Festival.
